After I dropped my wife off at work this morning I was stopped at the train tracks because of a passing train. As the train cars were passing I got to thinking about all the fine detail that went into perfecting each boxcar and the storage containers to ensure they are in proper working condition. The wheels need to attach to the tracks at a precise angle; the brakes need to be installed in a certain manner or it will not work; the top of each holding unit needs to be molded in such a way that the containers can lock in place while the train is in motion; and even the storage containers need to be in such a way that the doors can lock in place and open only when needed.
Isn't that how God was with us? He molded us in such a way that each of our body parts are perfected in such fine detail. One part of the body cannot necessarily work without the other. The heart pumps the blood to the brain and other organs as they are needed. The brain sends signals to various parts of our body to ensure they work. We use our hands to grasp things, but we wouldn't be able to do so without fingers. Everything is precisely as God perfected it.
Sometimes things do not work too well. The wheels may finally lose its bearing. A storage container may loosen during transit. Train wrecks do happen, and "body wrecks" also happen. A heart may temporarily stop. Hands may go numb. People get sick. Things happen. Yet, with maintenance things can be prevented; with maintenance things can get better. Mechanics and engineers are there to maintain every aspect of the train.
Just like mechanics and engineers are there for the train, God is there for us. Yes, we may be able to maintain our bodies on our own if we take care of it properly. If you eat the right foods, if you exercise, and get rid of habits, we can maintain our bodies. But God is there all the time. God is there when you are trying to get rid of the habits. He is there when you need help motivating yourself to exercise. God is there when you are weak. When your heart has been broken, when you are the bearer of bad news, when you receive bad news, Gos is there. When you are weary God is there. He is our mechanic, and He is our engineer. Don't you think it is time to take a visit and see your mechanic today?
Hebrews 13:5b from the New Testament of the Bible states: "For He has said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you." God is there. When you need Him, He is always there. Just as a race car driver at times needs to make a pit stop for more gas or a tire change, God is there to give us strength when we feel weak; He is there to give us encouragement when we need to be encouraged; He is there to take away the pain, the loneliness. He wants to give you joy. The Lord has much joy when we run to Him.
What kind of healing do you need today? Will you take your cares to Him? "Give your burdens to the LORD, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall" (Psalm 55:22).
Do you need prayer? Many can pray for you. If you need prayer I will pray for you, as the Word of God states "For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them" (Matthew 18:20). It is my sincere hope and prayer that you get the prayer that you need today!
